Dentists like other professionals have a duty of care towards their patients.  Dental negligence occurs where a dentist provides a level of treatment that falls below the standard normally expected.

There are time limits to bring claims against dentists and the clock starts ticking from when you knew about your problem.  If it was more than 3 years ago, we probably won’t be able to help you unless however there are special circumstances.

Dental negligence can be misdiagnosis, failure to diagnose the cause of your dental problems or carrying out dental work on an incorrect diagnosis, careless treatment, medication, administrative errors and even yes, swallowing instruments!

You may feel claiming may not be worth it as it is not the end of the world.......... but remember if a dentist pulls out the wrong tooth, as an adult it would be gone forever.
