Asbestosis, Mesotheliona and pleural plaques

Although asbestos is no longer used in buildings and manufacturing, it was widespread from the 30s to the 70s thus millions of people have been exposed to asbestos at work.  Only a few will develop mesotheliona as a result of their exposure but those who do are entitled to make a claim for compensation.  This is because many employers knew about the dangers of exposure to asbestos but did not prevent their employees being exposed to asbestos fibres.  It is also possible to bring a claim when you are exposed to asbestos in circumstances other than work, as an example from exposures to fibres and work clothing from family members or that you live near a factory where asbestos was used.

Vibration White Finger (VWF) is caused by the use of vibrating tools and this is caused by using tools that provide vibration for a long period of time with no proper work rotation.  Constant use of vibratory tools causes the whitening and numbing of the fingertips hence the name and can be very painful.

Beat Knee Bursitis
This results from the constant kneeling and crawling and that leads to the inflammation of the knee joint.  People who are vulnerable to this are people who kneel and bend for a living such as plumbers, carpet fitters, floorers and the like.
